2007 car shows
Click on a date to show the photos 08302007 The Pizza Shop Rob Mix decided to take photos tonight at the car show to create this Web site. If you would like high resolution picture from this list, just send an e-mail to robmix@thepizzashopsite.com. We thought a band was going to play tonight but the weather was iffy and they had a scheduling conflict so they cancelled; turned out to be great weather and a good time. 09062007 The Pizza Shop The Swamp Kings played some great blues songs while Rob took some more photos of the cars and people enjoying the cars, great food, and music. Check out TheSwampKings.com Web site. Paul's Rat Rod was a hit as usual. The poop fell out on the way to the show, but the toilet paper stayed put; while the hot dog looked a little cooked. Tasha was busy making and selling Pizza Shop/car show T-shirts. 09092007 Inver Grove Heights Show Medallions Car Club, which is the sponsor of this annual car show, has been around since 1959, though this is the third incarnation of the car club. Dave Mahle is the vice president and Gordon Waldhauser is the president. The car show had been held at a local park, where a record number of cars was 168. The show was moved to 69th and Cahill in 2006, but rain brought only about 80 cars. This year the car show on Cahill brought perfect weather and another record year, at least 197. More than they anticipated; they had to expand the show farther south, almost to 70th. Each year, Medallions Car Club donates proceeds from the car show to local community organizations. The car show awards 20 participant trophies as well as 5 special trophies. Sue Mahle showed her cream-colored Olds convertible with cream and green interior. A red 1954 Nash Ambassador had a great historical display about Charles W. Nash; and owner Gerald Sagendorf gave out fact sheets. Integrating vendors, like other local car shows, and making the door-prize tent more visible would make this car show even better. 09132007 The Pizza Shop. Cavan our leader was not seen and was missed as we started to close off the year with only one week left. 09162007 Church of St. Patrick Fall Festival. Took lots of photos of the cars as well as the many activities within the church and on the grounds. Friends enjoyed the bottle shop, cake walk, etc.; others thought the food prices were too high but it was fun and the weather was perfect. 09232007 The Pizza Shop Sunday year- end get together went well, even with the local police hanging around. Cars were already on display before noon and most stayed all day long. The band Tommy Love Trio cranked it up around 5:00pm and played well over an hour. Tasha got back from Brainerd and set her booth up to round out the night. There were a few most powerful cars that left marks as they bid The Pizza Shop Shows a farewell for the year. South Saint Paul 10062007 When we arrived this morning, we didn't expect many cars because of the rain. We were quite shocked and pleased to see so many cars; we photographed nearly 140 of them by noon. And even better the sun came out and so did spectators. The booya and bake sale went well. Send me an email if you'd like to add anything about this event. Hastings 10062007 Saturday cruise night Last night at Hastings and such an extremely huge turnout. I was looking forward to a taco, but the vendor couldn't make it. People were still coming downtown as cars were leaving around 8pm. Again, if you'd like to add a description here, send me an email. Rock Falls Raceway 10132007 Yes the 260Z went to the track and man Tyler got the small car humming. He started the day with a major burnout and ran down the track at 10.56 et at 134.56 mph. With an air pressure adjustment and some more tire smoke he hooked up for his fastest ride yet a 10.13 et at 134.7 mph with a .552 rt. That's not bad, not bad at all! His 260z has an E85 406ci sbc with a TH400 and some 32"x18" ET Street Tires. We took lots of photos of most of the cars there. Porky's 10202007 Beautiful day after a bunch of rainy ones; sunny to partly cloudy and upper 60s. Porky's was busy, though not quite full. Everything from classic cars, to muscle cars, to lowriders with their hydraulics; a very diverse collection of car enthusiasts. We all hope this isn't the last show quite yet. Frankensteiners 10212007 Bring your Car, bike, rat rods or hot rods! All makes, models and years are welcome! Fun for the whole family! Door prizes, face painting, raffles, games, costume contest, great music, good eats, car-to-car trick-or-treating, professional photographer on site, pinstriping by Relic & kool trophies. It was cold, windy and a lot of fun for the last cool show of 2007. Offiicals please e-mail me with more info about raffle prize sponsers and so on. It would be cool to list the winners of some of the trophies and prizes. robmix@thepizzashopsite.com Extras 10232007 These are a few other images that were given to me or that I shot. I will update this group from time to time.
Power Tour 2007 Hey 2008 power tour is coming very close to us and I am looking for people interested in maybe doing part or all of the tour. Please contact Rob if interested. 93X and Hooters car wash. Yep I had to have the Nova cleaned you know. Well, here are some of the photos. Note some of these photos were taken by the 93X photographer and were found on 93x web site. None of these photos are available in high res. After you've had your Pizza, how about dessert? Cathy and I stopped in at Dar's Double Scoop ice cream shop at 1046 Rice Street in Saint Paul. Wow the service and the 50's theme just was cool, and the ice cream was out of this planet. Well, I did some checking with the owner and he wanted to invite the car show people to check out his shop, so he gave me a coupon good for 50 cents off any order. Now with cones running around $2.00, that's big savings for us, so please click on the coupon and print it, and say you're a car guy so they know.

Power Tour 2008

Cathy and Rob went on the 2008 Hot Rod Magazine Power Tour and we had a good time. As long haulers we completed the tour, but we saw many people displaced from the storms. Please help our neighbors in IA & WI too.
Thank You, Rob and Cathy Mix
